I’m listening to Phantogram and I’ve run out of alcohol. I’m looking for something to say. I haven’t been to work lately, mostly because I don’t have a job. But at least the weather’s been nice, really nice. 70s nice. People are rushing to the park and the beach, it’s been nice. Unfortunately I’ve spent the last few days in bed, because I’m broke and I got no woman to lure me out in to the world. I read somewhere that it’s “Trust Women” Month. What do you think Ethan? Jesus, i know. I need to work on my manners. I use to be polite, I don’t know what happened. I’m glad I realize it though. I’ve been too bitter to control my manners, but now I feel better and should make sure I can control myself.
What have I done this last week? Well, I pulled together a last minute BBQ with Tim and Jeff. I think Jeff needed it. He’s been working too hard and just started his paralegal courses and working on wedding stuff. He needed guy time. We had some chicken apple and cajun sausages I picked up from Guerro Meat Market in the sunset, a nice old school Italian butcher place that is hidden out here. It was just Tim, Jeff and I, accompanied by meat in tubes and about 20 beers. It was a nice afternoon and when the sun set we found ourselves at Yancey’s Saloon, like we so often do. Warriors were playing, and Jeff left because he had to go to a bar with a secret door and say a password. So Tim and I found ourselves drinking and eating pizza until his coworkers came and we played Liars Dice, which is apparently the new bar game craze all the kids are playing now. I’m still confused on the rules. My friend Adena showed up, whom I’ve had romantic inquisitions for. “Had”, meaning I asked her out in an awkward fashion and received the usual let’s just be friends talk. At least she didn’t grab her vagina and yell “this is spoken for”, which I’ve seen her do to other men while I was at Edinburgh Castle. Anyway, I was polite. She’s always been nice, and a lot of fun to talk to. The other day I also took Jeff and Roseann’s save the date photos. I am really excited that they are getting married. Like Jeff says “It’s about time”.
Tomorrow I’m driving the girl I met at the pool to Concord to pick up her glasses and a mirror. I think she has a boyfriend now, it’s strange how I met her. I met her at a pool while doing laps. She looks great, but was swimming with glasses on. Strange. She was strange. We had dinner once. I never saw her again after that. I think I like people too easily. Even at the strip club on Christmas I thought all the girls were really nice and pretty. “Nothing’s sadder than a Christmas Stripper” my friend Yancey tells me. Maybe he’s right, but what does that say about the one who’s paying them to take their breasts out? I received a random text message the other day from a girl named Kylie. Apparently Ethan has been giving my number out to random women. I don’t mind I suppose. A little background about these broads would be nice though. I don’t want to be set up in another crazed tour of Wonderland. Who is this girl Ethan? Trouble?! Trouble I’m sure..
I never loved you either.
